In a day and age where the family is increasingly under attack, we believe that what is needed, now more than ever, is for families to be encouraged and strengthened. We are seeing an unprecedented number of marriages that end in divorce, even in the Christian church. There many more people that believe in the covenant they made before God, but they are extremely unhappy and haven’t found fulfillment in marriage. The place to find the strength to continue on, is in Christ Jesus. In our own pursuit of what it means to be a strong Biblical Family, to not be a statistic and end in divorce, we have found a few “secrets.” We are still learning and growing in our marriage, but we thought others might be encouraged to know they are not alone.
We are the Crawfurds. This started out as a newsletter at our wedding and for several years afterwards, we sent one to friends and relatives as our yearly Christmas letter. In the meantime, we’ve grown a lot and believe we have learned some valuable lessons over the years. We have struggled in many areas and have always believed that God can use us as an encouragement to others. We do not know everything, we haven’t been married for 40, 50 or even 60 years, but we have worked hard to have a fulfilling marriage. We believe that God can use what we have learned, and are still learning, to help others. We also believe that this is why God encourages us to fellowship with other believers; we are to share our joys, wisdom, pains, and struggles with each other to be a support and comfort. We have recently been re-evaluating our lives and our walk with Christ. We both have been very mainstream in our thinking and have come to realize that as we look at Scripture, we are not following Christ’s mandates as a husband, wife and parents.
On this site you will find not only things we have learned, or are still learning, but articles and devotionals from older wiser people as well. We recognize we do not know everything and are growing day by day ourselves. We need others to encourage and teach us as well. Come and learn along with us.
