Organizing Our Lives With Purpose

When we have a generally organized, clean home we are blessing our families. They find stability and peace in a well-organized space. Although, it is not always easy to keep up with all the demands our busy lives create. Here are a few ideas that have helped my routines to flow a bit easier. Some of these ideas are simple things most people already do, but hopefully you will find one or two creative ways to help you organize your home a little bit better.

May I share a story with you? When I was first married and shopping for groceries or other items for our home I found it took a lot of my time, so I began to stock up on the things we used regularly. I also wanted to be frugal with our money. When the local store had “buy one, get one free” deals I’d get enough to last for a while. In addition I belonged to a wholesale club, where I found some items at even better deals. I was saving a lot of money in the long run and saw many blessings this way of shopping gave to my family. Our home became known in the neighborhood as the one to go to for extra whatever. This gave us a number of opportunities to bless others, not only with food, but we’d often with a cup of tea and a chat. When my husband was out of work for nine months-and we only had three weeks of salary saved in the bank-I didn’t need to buy groceries for a long time. This really helped take some pressure off my beloved while he was trying to figure out what to do. God used my bulk-buying method to bless us during that time and to bless others too.

As someone who loves to keep a well-stocked home I’ve had to come up with creative ways to store all the stuff. A majority of these suggestions are for storage with the goal in mind of keeping a cleaner home. Peppered throughout these ideas will also be helpful hints for cleaning routines. Either way they are here to hopefully be a help no matter if you shop in bulk, have plenty of space, are limited by space, or just looking for cleaning short-cuts. Blessings on you as you create a clean organized home for your family. The environment I am helping to create will have a lifetime effect on my family and if the Lord doesn’t return, on the next generation to come. Feel free to check out the posts under home-making and organization for these ideas.

Once-A-Month Cooking

As one of the oldest children in a family of nine, I know that cooking for a crowd can almost be a full-time job. Once-a-month-cooking has been a lifesaver for our family. When we first heard of cooking 30 meals in one day, it sounded rather impossible. It was not...

Being keepers at home is often a thankless job. It requires so much of our time and energy and does not seem to have many rewards. As I pondered what to write here, I was reminded that all the house chores can be overwhelming at times. There are many tasks that need...
