We Use

Our Goat Milk

#1 Ingredient

Our dairy goats are fed a gluten free, organic diet with no corn, soy or wheat grain offerings. We use certified organic peas, alfalfa pellets, millet, gluten free oats, sunflower seeds and give them organic vegetable scraps from our own kitchen. The feed is used when on the milking stand while being milked and to help boost their nutritional intake.

Goat’s milk is known for it’s amazing qualities. The information shared here is from our own research. (see disclaimer below)

Here’s a short list of a few known benefits:

    • Nourishing to skin because it is high in vitamins A B6, B12, C, D and E
    • Has high levels of enzymes and proteins
    • It has a reputation of having natural antimicrobial properties which makes it good for acne
    • The protein strands are shorter and more readily absorbed by the skin that those in other milks
    • Soap and lotion made with goats milk boasts of being good for psoriasis and eczema because of caprylic acid and when combined with coconut its extra good for psoriasis
    • Caprylic acid and capric triglycerides add to silkiness of goat milk soap/lotion and bumps up antioxidants and makes a fantastic emollient and moisturizing agent
    • Lactic acid and alpha hydroxy acid help improve appearance of skin by encouraging cell turnover and smoother skin
    • Last but not least, it is believed that medium chain fatty acids help goat’s milk penetrate first (dead) layer of skin to encourage effective movement and deposit fat soluble Vit A, E & K, two antioxidants which can neutralize free radicals.

The Oils

Apricot Oil contains vitamin E, vitamin C, and vitamin E, vitamin K, unsaturated fatty acids, and antioxidants. This blend of nutrients and antioxidants can help restore and soothe the skin

Castor Oil helps increase cell turnover and acts as a protective barrier on your skin, increases lather and is a known humectant.

Cocoa Butter is high in antioxidants and fatty acids which are known to hydrate the skin deeply which help fight off free-radical damage, which can cause skin aging and heal chapped skin.

Coconut Oil is well known for its lauric acid content, it is rich in vitamin E and proteins which can moisturize and protect the skin.

Jojoba Oil leaves the skin soft and velvety while protecting and increasing its suppleness without clogging pores. Acting as a protective barrier, jojoba oil seals in moisture, helping to keep your skin hydrated and balanced.

Mango Butter is an excellent source of triglycerides. These are fatty acids that work as emollients to soften the skin and prevent it from feeling dry and itchy. It also contains Vitamin C, which is beneficial for your skin in many ways.

Olive Oil has many vitamins, including A, D, and K, as well as vitamin E, a fat-soluble antioxidant that has impressive free-radical fighting abilities. It is often used in facial creams and lotions because of it’s excellent gentleness and healing properties. Castile Soap for babies is made only with olive oil.

Sustainable Palm Oil is a versatile ingredient offers a range of benefits that can revitalize your skin. It has a reputation as a powerful yet gentle moisturizer. It is widely used in neonatal skincare, as it’s suitable for even the most delicate skin. It is rich in Vitamin E.

Shea Butter is a rich and nourishing natural moisturizer that reduces the appearance of fine lines and leaves the skin silky smooth.

Sweet Almond Oil is rich in Vitamin E and Antioxidants and soothes dryness and irritation by regenerating damaged cells, leaving the skin hydrated and smooth.

Sunflower Oil may be an effective natural treatment for eczema symptoms according to medical journals. It contains linoleic acid, which helps maintain the skin’s protective barrier. This barrier helps retain moisture and prevents excessive drying of the skin.

The Essential Oils

Bergamot has a tangy, sweet and slightly floral aroma known for its use in Earl Grey Tea, my absolute favorite tea! It is uplifting and relaxing to the senses and assists in renewing the skin.

Cedarwood has a soft, earthy scent with woody notes and is known for its anti-inflammatory and grounding abilities.

Cinnamon is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties make it effective for treating redness, itching, and inflammation in various skin conditions. It is packed with antioxidants which could potentially protect skin from environmental damage and the signs of premature aging.

Clove has a warm, spicy, aromatic scent. It has anti-microbial, anti-fungal, antiviral and antiseptic properties that will help to heal and prevent acne, fight the signs of aging and fade dark spots and blemishes.

Eucalyptus has a highly fragrant, with an energizing, woodsy aroma. The essential oil is commonly used to help alleviate chest congestion and ease cold symptoms. The essential oil also has claims for its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties believed to reduce the symptoms of acne and eczema, although there are not a ton of official studies done to prove this, there is a wealth of anecdotal evidence suggests these claims may be true.

Lavender a fresh floral aroma. It is commonly used in aromatherapy due to its calming and relaxing properties. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as promote rest. When applied to the skin, it can help reduce inflammation and improve the appearance of scars and blemishes.

Litsea has a citrusy, lemon-like, vibrant scent that anchors the other citrus scents and known to reduce stressful feelings.

Peppermint is often used in cosmetic and skincare products. It is an uplifting, rejuvenating scent and cooling sensation and potentially good for calming irritated skin disorders.

Rosemary has a fresh, minty-woodsy aroma, with a refreshing and energizing scent. It has antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiseptic properties.

Sweet Orange has a sweet and pleasant aroma with skin-toning qualities. As with most citrus scents it is fresh, cheerful and uplifting.

Ylang Ylang has a rich and sweet exotic floral aroma. It is said to promote relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves mood. In skin care, it’s commonly prized for its skin-balancing properties. It is one of my favorite scents.

Clays & Additives

Brazilian Purple Clay is a type of Kaolin clay, that is naturally colored due to its mineral content.

French Green Clay offers exfoliating properties while drawing out impurities from the pores.

Kaolin Clay has gentle balancing properties for the skin.

Rose Clay is a gentle, mineral-rich clay commonly known for its anti-microbial, detoxifying, and high antioxidant content and is often used for facial soaps, masks, etc.

Calendula has resin-rich anti-inflammatory compounds that have the ability to heal superficial wounds while offering anti-microbial properties.

Chamomile is a soothing, anti-inflammatory and healing plant which is known to calm troubled and sensitive skin.

Madder Root traditionally has been used as a natural dye for centuries and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Oats (Gluten Free) are considered an emollient which is a substance that soothes the skin because they packs fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients shown to benefit the skin. The FDA officially categorized colloidal oats as a skin protectant according to my research.

Orange Peel Powder is often used for its gentle exfoliating properties.

Poppy Seed is rich in essential fatty acids which offer anti-inflammatory benefits and wonderful exfoliating qualities.

Raw Honey offers natural antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It’s excellent for aging skin and well known for its moisturizing and soothing effects. We source our beautiful fragrant raw honey locally.
